A Comprehensive Guide to Wholesale Dates Prices in Malaysia

Kurma medjool Palestine

Every price in this guide comes from one Malaysian date wholesaler's online price list, checked on 27 October 2026. That list shows two numbers for each pack: a regular price and a price now. On the check date, all 57 listings in its date categories had a price now below the regular price. So the regular price is not what anyone pays, and the useful question is how to read the second number.

This guide works through that question. It starts with Ajwa, because "Kurma Nabi" is a Malaysian market name for Ajwa, then moves to the other varieties on the list.

Wholesale prices for Ajwa (Kurma Nabi)

Ajwa comes from Madinah in Saudi Arabia. It is a small, roundish, near-black date with finely wrinkled skin and a soft bite. The price list carries 13 Ajwa listings, and 5 of them were in stock on the check date:

Ajwa listing Pack Regular (RM) Price now (RM) Cut RM per kg now
Ajwa A 2026 1kg 110 31 72% 31.00
Ajwa AA 2026 1kg 120 36 70% 36.00
Ajwa AAA VIP (Large) 1kg 130 44 66% 44.00
Ajwa Premium A No.1 (Small) 2026 5kg 250 115 54% 23.00
Ajwa Premium VIP AAA 5kg 450 175 61% 35.00

Those three 1kg bags have the deepest cuts of all 57 date listings. They are still not the cheapest Ajwa per kilo. The 1kg Ajwa A works out at RM31 per kg after a 72% cut, while the 5kg carton labelled A No.1 (Small) comes to RM23 per kg after a smaller 54% cut. The same thing happens one step up. The 1kg AAA VIP (Large) is RM44 per kg and the 5kg VIP AAA carton is RM35 per kg, even though the bag has the bigger percentage off.

The other 8 Ajwa listings were out of stock: the 1kg VVIP Jumbo (RM55), the A pouch bag of 24 × 200g (RM221), the Jumbo Luxury Box of 12 × 500g (RM430), and five 5kg cartons, namely A No.2 (Mini) at RM95, AA at RM145, VVIP Jumbo at RM215, a second VIP AAA listing at RM231 and XL Super Jumbo at RM370.

When the regular price ranks the cartons wrongly

Comparing 5kg cartons with each other is easy because the weight is the same. On regular prices, the in-stock Ajwa VIP AAA and Medjool Super Jumbo cartons look equal at RM450 each. Price now, the Ajwa carton is RM175 and the Medjool carton is RM315.

The Ajwa A No.1 (Small) carton has a regular price of RM250, which is higher than Mariami AA (RM200) and Safawi AA (RM190). After the cuts it is the cheapest of the three at RM115, against RM129 for the Mariami and RM153 for the Safawi. Safawi Premium Jumbo and Mariami AAA VIP share a regular price of RM230. Price now, they sit RM47 apart, at RM195 and RM148.

If you shortlist on the crossed-out number, you can end up with the wrong carton. Shortlist on the price now, and divide by the weight when the packs differ.

Every in-stock date listing, sorted by price per kg

These are the 23 date listings that were in stock on the check date. The cut is the price now measured against the regular price.

Medjool Palestin Premium Jumbo 2026 5kg 400 280 30% 56.00
Medjool Palestin Jumbo 2026 12 × 500g 450 355 21% 59.17
Medjool Palestin Jumbo 2026 8 × 900g 570 448 21% 62.22
Medjool Palestine Super Jumbo 2026 5kg 450 315 30% 63.00
Medjool Palestin Jumbo (1 box) 900g 90 70 22% 77.78

Two things stand out. The cheapest date per kilo, Mariami A Normal at RM15, has a modest 38% cut, which is about half the cut on the 1kg Ajwa A at RM31 per kg. At the other end, the in-stock Medjool listings carry cuts of only 21% to 30%, and the single in-stock Deglet Noor pack is down just RM2. Mariami comes from Iran, Safawi from the Madinah region, Sukari from Al-Qassim, and Deglet Noor (sold on the stem as kurma tangkai) from Tunisia and Algeria. The Medjool listings are named as Palestinian stock.

What was out of stock

On the check date, 34 of the 57 date listings were out of stock. By variety, Ajwa had 5 of 13 listings in stock, Safawi 7 of 9, Mariami 4 of 9, Medjool 5 of 9 and Deglet Noor 1 of 10. Of the 5 listings filed as fresh dates, only Rotab Sukkary Premium 3kg was in stock. The single Mabroom and Mashrook cartons were both out of stock. An out-of-stock line can still show a low price now, such as the Natural Deglet Noor Loose 5kg at RM63, so check stock before you plan around a figure.

How to use a wholesale price list like this

Ignore the percentage off. It is measured against a regular price that no date listing was charging on the check date, so it tells you how far a price fell, not whether it is low.

Compare the price now per kilo, and compare like with like. A 5kg carton against another 5kg carton is a straight comparison. A 1kg bag against a 5kg carton needs the per-kg figure. Check the grade wording too. "A No.1 (Small)" and "A" are different labels, and grades such as A, AA, AAA and Jumbo are each importer's own size sorting rather than an international standard.

Finally, note the date. Demand for dates peaks before and during Ramadan, and this list is a snapshot from October 2026. For more about this site, see the about us page. Questions about this guide can go through the contact page, which gives a WhatsApp number.
